In Taiwan, the three major petrochemical products are plastics, synthetic fibers, and synthetic rubber. The rubber and plastics industry is a foundational industry highly relevant to people's livelihoods, encompassing food, clothing, shelter, transportation, medicine, and more, all extensively utilizing rubber, plastics, and composite materials. In 2022, the export value of rubber, plastics, and their products reached $26.06 billion USD, approximately NT$781.8 billion. From January to June 2023, the export value exceeded $10.09 billion USD, approximately NT$302.7 billion, making it Taiwan's sixth-largest export industry.
Furthermore, Taiwan's complete rubber and plastics supply chain, from upstream chemical plants to midstream and downstream basic raw material industries, has driven the thriving development of the rubber, plastics, and chemical fiber industries. Taiwan's export ranking for rubber and plastics processing or manufacturing machinery is sixth globally, with exports exceeding NT$30 billion in 2021.
The inaugural Taiwan International Rubber Materials and Composite Materials Application Industry Exhibition will lead Taiwanese businesses in showcasing the complete petrochemical industry supply chain to global buyers. It will truly radiate globally from industrial clusters, becoming the only international specialized exhibition in the rubber, plastics, and composite materials industry chain and an annual highlight of the rubber and plastics industry
TARGET
Under the guidance of the International Trade Administration, we are integrating global resources, providing subsidies for international buyers. In 2025, we aim to host 40 match-making meeting from 20 countries. Simultaneously, our team is actively promoting investment at major international exhibitions such as CHINAPLAS in China and NPE in the United States. We deploy personnel to these events for on-site promotion and complement it with digital advertising, ensuring comprehensive exposure. The exhibition plans to invite over 250 exhibitors and attract more than 9,000 professional buyers. During the exhibition, the PMT SUMMIT - a forum for innovation in the rubber and plastics industry - will be held. We anticipate inviting industry associations from Japan, China, Malaysia, France, Turkey, and other countries to Taiwan for exchanges and organizing member visiting groups.
